About

Vancie's Cottage is a great example of the way life used to be. Simple, uncomplicated, everything right there in front of you at face value. This cottage has been updated for your comfort, with a nice kitchen, comfortable dining room, bathroom with all new fixtures, including washer and dryer. An airy and original porch to sip a cold drink on, trying to come up with words to describe the amazing Adirondack sunsets. Clean, clear water on the main part of Lake Champlain, new aluminum dock too!

Good to know

Please be advised , there may be brief times when the dock is shared by family members accessing their boat from the nearby mooring.

Other Details to Note

Please be advised , Mother Nature is ultimately in control of the lake, there may be times when we can’t provide the dock becase of water level.

House Rules

Minimum age to be the renter of record 24 years old. Outdoor quiet hours are 10PM The property lines are within the white split rail fences. This means guests do not have access to the pagoda in front of the tennis court, or the tennis court itself. Please respect these parameters. Parking is directly behind the house. Not in the driveway please.

This was our 2nd stay at Vancie’s cottage. We love this spot. Islands only is very responsive and the cabin is exactly as described/ pictured. Private and peaceful, the area is wonderful. We look forward to staying here again in the future. Thanks for another great stay!

We had a lovely stay at Vancie’s Cottage! Such a comfortable home, right on the lake, with everything we needed for a little family staycation. We enjoyed meals on the porch, watching the sunset!

My wife and I have vacationed in the islands for 40 years. We are very familiar with rustic camps, and in our opinion this is a classic. The close proximity to the water, which was clean and weed free, was delightful, the sound of the waves lapping lulled us to sleep. The cabin is the perfect example of generational efficiency, very easily navigated as everything had a place. The huge porch was a bonus. Sunsets were beautiful. We were there in Sept. and it was very quiet, there are other camps nearby that were not occupied. The cabin had a woodstove, we did not need it though the mornings were chilly. No outdoor fires are allowed.

We made a last-minute reservation to stay at Vancie’s Cottage and we are glad that we did. A pleasant place to stay right on the Lake Champlain waterfront. A bit quiet and somewhat secluded. Sunsets were amazing. The cottage is filled with a lot of novelty items and you get a sense of the family that had originally owned it. We will find a way to go back again.

A very quaint, private week in a cabin the lake. If you like simplicity, this is the place for you. It has the feel of coming home in another era of time where like feels less rushed. We love this place!
